BHT Director Robin Hanson recently gave his insight into the current retail market in Harrogate to BBC Business News correspondent Emma Simpson.
“It’s the toughest market I’ve ever seen, rents and rates are very big overheads, so landlords are looking at having to reduce rents. A shop has just been let in Harrogate at half the rent that the previous tenants were paying. The government needs to reduce the business rates liability and I also think the council needs to reduce car parking costs.”
Robin also appeared in a segment on BBC Breakfast last Saturday morning!
